The Annual BIO Conference, co-sponsored with the Leon Levy Center for Biography, will occur in person on Thursday, June 5, and Friday, June 6, , at The National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Of all the programs and services provided to BIO members, the Biographers International Organization is proudest of its annual conference. Each year, BIO brings together some of the finest practitioners of the craft of biography to help guide, mentor, encourage, and advise attendees on a wide variety of topics relating to the writing, researching, and selling of biography.
The conference also offers a unique opportunity to hear some of biography’s best—and best-known—writers share their stories. We are pleased to announce the call for papers/installations for the Summer Auto/Biography Study Group conference on the theme of Home. We welcome papers and presentations that respond to ‘home’ substantively, theoretically, methodologically and creatively. We also welcome ‘installation pieces’ which might include a poster, creative artefact(s), a short video or other.
The keynote will be given bygd Dr Jackie Goode who is a Visiting Fellow in Qualitative Methods in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Loughborough University. Jackie’s paper is entitled: ‘A Life in sju Moves: Stories of Loss, Grief Work and Coming Home to Self’.

The International Society for Educational Biography (ISEB) is an organization dedicated to the exploration of biography in writing, teaching, research, and other professional endeavors. Related research often includes collective biographies, the role of biography in the history of education, biography and fiction, general biography, plot structures of biographies.
