    The New Era Cap Company (commonly known simply as New Era) is an American headwear company headquartered in Buffalo, New York. It was founded in by Ehrhardt Koch. New Era has over different licenses in its portfolio. Since , they have been the exclusive baseball cap supplier for Major League Baseball (MLB).[1][2]

    Ehrhardt Koch revolutionized the world of caps in with the foundation of a family business called New Era Cap Co.


    In he founded the E. Koch Cap Company. That was thanks to a loan of $ Later, he renamed it New Era Cap Co., his company began producing 60, Gatsby hats a year.


    In his only son Harold joined the business. With his economic vision of the company and the environment, he realized that a change was needed. The change was to produce fewer Gatsby caps (since they were less and less in demand) to start manufacturing baseball caps taking advantage of their popularity growth.


    In the 40s they made adjustable caps with elastic reinforcement.


    In New Era was the only independent company that made the caps for the major baseball leagues. Koch passed away in but his ideals
