Trey McIntyre was created in 1969 as a collaboration between his mother and father. His interest both in art and getting the hell away from Kansas led him to train at North Carolina School of the Arts and the Houston Ballet Academy. In 1989, he was appointed Choreographic Apprentice to Houston Ballet, a position created especially for him, and in 1995 he became the company’s Choreographic Associate. He has worked for more than 30 years as a freelance choreographer, producing more than 100 pieces during the span of his career so far. He also did a bunch of other cool things, including working with a lot of amazing companies such as The Stuttgart Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Queensland Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, New York City Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, BalletX, The Washington Ballet, Ballet Memphis, and San Francisco Ballet.
He has won numerous awards and honors such as the Choo San Goh Award for Choreography, a Lifetime Achievement Award from The National samhälle

Trey McIntyre (born November 12, 1969)[1] is an American dancer and choreographer, who has a body of work that includes around 100 original dance pieces.[2] He founded and acts as president of Trey McIntyre Project, a dance company that was based in Boise, Idaho,[3] where he lived in the historic Northend.[4]
Career

Trey McIntyre on His New Chapter With L.A.’s BODYTRAFFIC
After his Trey McIntyre Project gave its final performances 10 years ago, choreographer Trey McIntyre didn’t think he’d work in-depth with another dance company. But then the Los Angeles–based BODYTRAFFIC changed his mind. McIntyre recently joined the company as a creative partner, a new role that makes him a strategic ally to artistic director Tina F. Berkett. McIntyre sees the position as an opportunity to be a sounding board for Berkett regarding long-term planning, artistic programming, marketing, and education. He will also create new work for the company. In fact, he rang in this new chapter last week with the world premiere of Mayday, a work honoring the 1950s rock musician Buddy Holly.
