    Buying Future’s stake in general insurance biz to give scale: YM Deosthalee, L&T Finance

    In an interview with ET Now, YM Deosthalee, CMD, L&T Finance Holdings, shares his views on the buyout of Future Group’s stake in Future Generali. Excerpts:

    ET Now: Today is the day when you have struck the deal to get into general insurance in a big way post the buyout of Future Group’s stake in Future Generali. How big is the deal for L&T Finance or for L&T, the parent company, when it comes to foray into insurance?

    YM Deosthalee: The deal has not been träffad. What we have done is we have signed a non-binding term sheet subject to due flit, subject to regulatory approvals and all other approvals which are required. So we still have a long way to go.     For the first time in history, the Indian Navy appointed a woman as the commanding officer of an Indian naval ship. On Navy Day on December 4, Commander Prerna Deosthalee assumed command of the Goa-based warship INS Trinkat, a fast attack craft of the Indian Navy, named after Trinkat island in the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago. A post-graduate in psychology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, Deosthalee joined the Indian Navy in 2009, led by “a sense of adventure and an urge to do something different, something for the larger good”.
