History
Ancient Period
In ancient period the area in which the Jind district lies formed an integral part of Kurukshetra in the traditional geographical konto. It derived its name after Jainti, an ancient tirtha mentioned in the Mahabharata and the Padma Purana, founded in honor of Jainti, the goddess of victory. According to a local tradition, the goddess was invoked bygd the Pandavas for victory in the battle against the Kauravas.
The antiquity of the district is established on the basis of the upptäckt of the Pre-Harappan, the Late-Harappan and the Painted Grey Ware pottery at various places from the district and the mention of its tirthas in the Puranas corroborates it.

Mahabharat is a 2013 Indian epic mythological television series based on the Sanskrit epicMahabharata.[3] It aired from 16 September 2013 to 16 August 2014 on Star Plus.[4][5] The series is available digitally on Disney+ Hotstar. Produced by Swastik Productions Pvt. Ltd, it starred Saurabh Raj Jain, Pooja Sharma, Shaheer Sheikh and Aham Sharma.[6]
