    From Levelland, Texas, Larry Ford made his first recording at age fifteen on Sword & Shield Records owned by the Wills Family of Arlington. His fabulous tenor voice was already gaining him prominence in Texas circles. Gospel music legendary promoter, J. G. Whitfield, hired Larry to sing tenor with the Dixie Echoes of Pensacola, Florida. From the quartet circuit, Larry Ford, emerged as a nationally known evangelist, and was a church pastor for awhile. A few years ago, Larry sang tenor for the James Blackwood Quartet. When Bill Gaither began his Homecoming video series and concerts, he remembered the extraordinary tenor voice of Larry Ford. Larry is a featured soloist on many of the Gaither Homecoming videos, and his recorded projects are in demand worldwide.     Larry Ford is a Grammy award winning tenor whose music career first took root at the age of five, when he climbed up on a chair at his home church in Levelland, Texas. His first solo was “How Great Thou Art.” Fifty years later Larry still sings How Great Thou Art. He has sung it in English, Spanish, Swedish, Russian, Italian. Larry’s music ministry has taken him to 49 states of the United States and to more than thirty foreign countries.

    Larry’s training is in classical music, having studied privately as a teenager with an Italian vocal coach. He attended Eastern New Mexico University on a music scholarship. After working for two years as a pilot, Larry sang briefly with The Downings as a featured soloist. He sang tenor with the Dixie Echoes and The James Blackwood Quartet.
