    Bryshere Yazuan Gray is an American artist musically known as Yazz the Greatest.

    Childhood

    Bryshere Yazuan Gray was born in Arkansas on 28 November 1993. He moved to Philadelphia with his mother after the parents divorced. Gray grew up with his sister Brianna in Philadelphia. His mother Andria Mayberry got Gray when she was still in her teen years. When the marriage broke up, she decided to raise her children as a single mother.

    Bryshere Gray did his secondary education at Overbrook High School in Philadelphia. He was an energetic personality in school. His passion was American football until he suffered an injury that forced him out of the game.

    Gray quickly discovered his other talent music. He used his talent to help generate more income for the family. Gray once worked at a local eatery selling pizza. When he got sacked, he turned his efforts to music. He used every opportunity to showcase his rapping prowess. G

    Since 2013, Gray has performed at a variety of music festivals in the Philadelphia area, including Jay Z’s Made in America Festival, The Roots' Picnic Festival, and Power 99FM's Powerhouse concert.[4] He also has been the opening act for rappers, such as Fabolous and 2 Chainz.[5] His debut single "Respect" was released in 2013.[6] In 2015, Gray began his first acting role as Hakeem Lyon on the Fox drama TV series Empire, with co-stars Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard and Jussie Smollett.[7

His mother, Andria Mayberry, fell pregnant with him when she was a teenager and reared him alone in the absence of his father. He watched his mother struggle at the hands of his father as he grew up, and at the age of five, he was diagnosed with A.D.H.D. Brianna is his sister. Growing up, he worked three jobs to help support his family.

    Bryshere Gray began his music career when he was 16 years old while working at a Pizza Hut in his hometown of Philadelphia. He was soon signed to the independent label Raw Life and released several singles, including ‘Homework’ (2012) and ‘Respect’ (2013).
