Screen actors are coming together to send a message to their union ahead of a potential SAG-AFTRA strike. Over 300 actors, including Jennifer Lawrence,Kevin Bacon, Quinta Brunson,Mark Ruffalo, and Meryl Streep have signed a letter signaling to SAG-AFTRA leadership that they are “prepared to strike” and urging SAG-AFTRA leadership to take a firm stance when negotiating new film and TV contracts with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
SAG-AFTRA has reached what may be the final week at the bargaining table before the current contract expires at midnight on June 30. The letter comes days after SAG-AFTRA’s leaders communicated with the union that negotiations with AMPTP have been “extremely productive” and that they “remain optimistic” that a fair deal can be reached. It was so great to see the two of you on screen together as Charles Lee Ray. What was the experience like on set for the both of you?
