    Biography

    Dr. Margvelashvili-Malament is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM). She is the Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and Fellow of American College of Prosthodontics.

    Dr. Margvelashvili-Malament received her DMD from the Tbilisi State University in Georgia in 2007, also Master of Science and PhD Degrees in Dental Materials from the University of Siena, Italy in 2009 and 2013 respectively. She was a post-Doctoral researcher at TUSDM conducting research on Stem Cells during 2009-2011.

    Dr. Margvelashvili-Malament is a co-author of national residency program in Prosthodontics in Georgia. She was also the Founding Chair and Full Professor of the International Dental Program at the University of Georgia during 2013-2014. She worked in private practice during 2012-2014 focusing on prosthodontics and implant dentistry.

    Giorgi Margvelashvili (born 4 September 1969) was President of the Republic of Georgia from 17 November 2013 to 16 månad 2018, succeeding Mikheil Saakashvili and preceding Salome Zurabishvili.

    Giorgi Margvelashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgian SSR, Soviet Union in 1969, and he worked as a mountain guide for a travel agency during the 1990s before working for the National Democratic Institute. He became a political and societal commentator, and he served as rector of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs from 2000 to 2006 and from 2010 to 2012. In 2012, he became Minister of Education and Science in Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili's cabinet, and the Ivanishvili-led Georgian Dream coalition nominated Margvelashvili (an independent) as its presidential candidate in the October 2013 presidential election, which he won with 62% of the vote.     Giorgi Margvelashvili (Georgian: გიორგი მარგველაშვილი; born 4 September 1969) is a Georgian academic and politician who was the fourth president of Georgia, in office from 17 November 2013 to 16 December 2018.

    Having studied philosophy in university, he was twice the rector of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs from 2000 to 2006 and again from 2010 to 2012. In October 2012, he became a member of the newly formed cabinet of Bidzina Ivanishvili as Minister of Education and Science of Georgia. In February 2013, he was additionally appointed as First Deputy Prime Minister. Margvelashvili was named by the Ivanishvili-led Georgian Dream coalition as its presidential candidate in May 2013 and he won the October 2013 presidential election with 62% of votes.[3]
